Bannock Russet (A 81473-2) is a late maturing, medium to high yielding selection with a heavy russet skin and oblong tuber type. It will be useful for fresh and processing markets in areas with a long warm growing season. Bannock Russet has medium to high specific gravity and excellent fry color from 45 degrees storage. It has resistances to early dying, early blight, external defects and blackspot bruise. Its weaknesses are: Short tuber type, occasional hollow heart, susceptibility to shatter bruise and skinning, and late maturity.
